Berkshire Golf Day

Earlier this year we decided to move the Summer meeting to October, and to rename it the Autumn Meeting, to see if it date suited the membership better. This seems to be the case as one stage we were fully subscribed (32) before Covid and life reduced the number to 27. Of these 4 were pupils at the school.
We were blessed with a perfect autumn day and the course was in equally good condition. We had a good mixture of old hands and first timers and as a result I think some old friendships were rekindled.
The golf was competitive and with Lucy Nash’s help even the administration seemed to go smoothly. We experimented with a new idea for prizes offering the winners to opportunity to be hosted by an OCGS member as his or her club. The Best pupil won the opportunity to play at Royal St George’s with two friends (or family).
The prize winners’ are as below but I feel the real winner was the whole day as irrespective of the golf everyone seem to enjoy themselves.
Of special note were Henry McWatter’s orange trousers, cap and watch strap; Chris Trembath again appearing without a tie (not that he needed one this time); Taylor being the first girl to win a prize.
