Somerset International Festival of the Arts Festival dates: 6th- 8th October 2023 Location: St Andrew's Church, Church Lane, Backwell, North Somerset BS48 3JJ www.somersetfestivalarts.co.uk Since moving to North Somerset from London over 10 years ago OC violinist Liv-Marie Kodurand (nee Fletcher WT 2001) and husband Simon have been determined to find a way in which to contribute their skills and love of music to the benefit of the local community. The Somerset International Festival of the Arts is an annual celebration of classical music and the arts which brings together leading international chamber musicians and performers to North Somerset. Based in the intimate and beautiful setting of St Andrew's Church in Backwell, the festival aims to celebrate exceptional music making from some of the world’s finest performers, and support and nurture music education through partnership programmes with schools and the local community. Somerset is rich with musicians and artists of the highest calibre, many of whom perform nationally and internationally with some of the country’s leading orchestras and ensembles. We are fortunate to have a partnership with The Bristol Ensemble, the South West’s leading chamber orchestra, who will be ensemble-in-residence for our inaugural festival. The launch festival will take place between the 6th-8th October 2023, presenting a series of events with leading international musicians including concerts, workshops and talks. The festival opens with the musical imagery of Vivaldi's Seasons by Candlelight on Friday 6th, a fun-filled Family Music Workshop morning on Saturday 7th, an atmospheric evening of Film Classics of the Silver Screen on Saturday 7th, an exhilarating concert of Argentine Tango Music by Candlelight on Sunday 8th, and much, much more.
