School House boys visit former House Master
Friday, 23 June 2023
A small group of the 1983 vintage, Henry McWatters and David Tosh (both SH), Peter Tunstall-Behrens (WiH) and Jonathan Glassberg (PH) made their way to Trebetherick on Friday June 23rd for lunch chez Gover. Blessed by glorious weather we enjoyed a cardiologist’s worst nightmare lunch of foie gras, salmon en croute, a large selection of cheeses, apple pie and homemade mango sorbet all washed down with a fabulous 2006 Ridge Monte Bello and a sublime 1975 Chateau d’Yquem. Sadly, we were unable to source any Sobraine Black Russians as they are now apparently banned from sale in England.

Afterwards a few highly competitive games of boules were enjoyed, all won by the Cliff Bank home team of Tom and Michael Gover (ST)

You’ll be pleased to hear that Tom was in excellent form and was especially delighted to hear about the Sussex school pupil identifying as a cat (“Wonderful. I’d give them a saucer of milk”). Thanks to both Tom and Michael for their typical legendary hospitality.

Apologies were sent by Bruno Callaghan, Ed Christie, James Cole and Tom Manners (all SH).
Same time next year!
